The US commander in charge of all forces in Iraq
said on Thursday American troops might not be brought home once
international peacekeepers are deployed to the war-torn country,
a reversal that means 150,000 US soldiers may stay in Iraq indefinitely.
A US soldier was killed in Iraq after the vehicle
he was travelling in collided with another vehicle when his supply
convoy came under
fire near ad-Diwaniyah, the US army said in a statement on Wednesday.
The U.S. military in Iraq says two American
soldiers have died in separate incidents south of Baghdad.
The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed Thursday
that a Virginia-based Navy SEAL was killed in combat in Afghanistan.
This war is a lie, a savage and brutal lie, but a
lie nonetheless. Each day of loss and devastation forces the liars
to revise the
words of their deceit. And each destructive day forces a supportive
supine press corps to find new ways to avert their eyes from the
truth.
